DIY Bathbombs/ Mini-bathbombs for your foot spa! :)

Recently, I threw a baby shower. I was trying to think of what would make good gifts-something to treat lovely peeps who came and also helped out. So I decided to make some bathbombs. Now I realise that there are so many recipes on bath bombs on-line. I have tried couple of different recipes and I can say that they all end up slightly different.

However, this is a recipe I do like. So here’s to sharing ย ๐Ÿ™‚ I had lots of fun making them. At the end, my hand&arms felt all soft and smelled like orange scented perfume ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you give it a go, don’t forget to ask if you have any questions!!!

112.5g baking soda,ย 56.5g citric acid (these 2 are for the fizz effect)

56.5g corn flour (this is to bind the whole thing)

56.5g Epsom salt (releases muscle tension)

1/2 tsp water (Add this in drops. As you add, quickly stir like crazy! ๐Ÿ™‚ Otherwise

10-12 drops of pure essential orange oil (yes, I know, quite a lot I know…but more oil= smells amazing!)

2tsp 100% Italian olive oil (soothes dry skin/cracks in your feet)

Fewย drops of non-toxic water based red&yellow food colouring to achieve orange

Dry rose petals/other flower petals of your choice+ gift bags+ribbon/coloured strings

I had someone ask me if they were candy/lollies. ๐Ÿ™‚ heheh ๐Ÿ™‚ They really did smell amazing though! ๐Ÿ™‚ I used silicon mini-muffin moulds by the way, in case you are wondering what I used to mould my mini bathbombs.

*Tip: You have to work quite fast as you bind the whole thing. Otherwise, the miture dries up fairly fast and solidifies. Remember: Mix your wet ingredients first and then add it to your dry ingredients ๐Ÿ™‚

Two different ways of wrapping ๐Ÿ™‚ One batch= see through clear bags.

Other batch= Tissue papers ๐Ÿ™‚

Have fun!!!

My Pink Tree/I will be thankful in 2015 tree/ DIY Thank you Tree/DIY Homemade Centerpiece

Hello my lovelies! Today at church, I heard this sermon about how when you feel God is speaking into your heart that we should jot it down. Write it down somewhere. In case we forget. To remind us when we go through tough times. To be thankful for the good times.ย Then it occurred to me. Most people would probably write a journal. Fair enough. But in my case, I have been known to eh hem… ‘misplace’ such journals. Also, Iย have been making a ‘thank you’ tree since sometime last year. So this year, I decided to make one. I thought I would make this, leave it around the entrance to my flat and hang my/other people’s contributions on the tree as the year goes on. Then at the end of the year, reflect on the scribbles. Not that we are not allowed to randomly read things off tree before the yr ends ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyways. ย My hand is now coloured fluorescent pink. Still. It was fun ๐Ÿ™‚

What you need: Paint (or gold/silver spray), fake pearls, glitter, glue guns, some tree branches, bright fabric (or tissue paper or other types of fabric of your choice) and some strings of course ๐Ÿ™‚

Step 1: Paint your tree branch. Mine ended up pink because I found some pink paint. Other colours= $$$ย But you can use any colour your like ๐Ÿ™‚

Step 2. Add glitter to the tree branch with wet/semi-dry paint. With a glue gun, add fake pearls to the tip of every branch. You don’t have to do this, but I chose to do this to make ย the tree more pretty ๐Ÿ™‚

Step 3. With the glue gun, glue the branch into a glass jar. I understand if the branch is thick enough, you may not want to do this. But I chose to glue mine to give more stability to my tree structure. I then found some matching coloured fabric and covered the top of the glass jar ๐Ÿ™‚

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAStep 4. Place the tree somewhere you won’t forget ๐Ÿ™‚ On pieces of blank paper, don’t forget to scribble what you are thankful for and then hang it on the tree ๐Ÿ™‚ One paper piece= does not have to be one thing. It can be many things. Whatever you feel like. Don’t forget to leave some matching coloured strings near the tree for other people to hang their notes ๐Ÿ™‚

Finished product ๐Ÿ™‚ Let me know how you go! Have fun! x

Hi my lovelies ๐Ÿ™‚

Recently, I went on an overnight trip to Central Otago. It was my first time. On my way there, I took pics from my bus. Not a high quality camera or anything like that- but still. I thought that the views were simply stunning! Most pics= zero filter. Other ones= I played around with Picasa, that is all.

I have turned vegan(sh) + Recipes for non-dairy vegan ice-cream

Hello my lovelies!ย I am so sorry that I have been away from this blog for so long. I have other excuses, true. But the FULL TRUTH is that I actually forgot my password! ย So what can you do, when you can’t log into your own blog. ๐Ÿ˜›

Since the last time I wrote, there has been quite a few changes in my life. To start off with, my grandpa passed away… Meaning both of my grandpas have now left. This whole experience has made me think more on nutrition/lifestyle choices.

At high school, I did cross-country/ran a lot and even now, I hit the gym at least 4 times a week. However, I think healthy lifestyle choices are more than just how much we exercise. It’s also about what we put into our own bodies. I have also discovered that my body acts as if I have something-[hyperglycemia???] meaning that my body reacts rather sensitively to white flour/processed sugar. I get tired more easily than other people. Even my GP agrees that my body seem to just absorb sugar quicker than some other people. When I eat natural, whole food- as in veggies, fruit, whole grain, it’s fine.

If I eat meat, it’s fine- but they are quite expensive to start off with (versus a bag of silver beets) and high quality, properly farmed, lean meat is certainly not cheap! ย Also, I don’t really like blood ๐Ÿ˜›ย I don’t think I will ever be able to fully convert to the raw food movement, but I think there are many good points in raw food/vegan diets.ย I’ve never been a massive meat eater anyway and I have a veggie garden at the moment- so I think it won’t be that hard. Will see though.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today, I am sharing a rather cheap, so so yum/creamy textured i-can’t-believe-it’s-not-dairy-but-it-tastes-like-velvet-smooth-soft-serve-sorbet-texture recipe ๐Ÿ™‚ Sorry for the massive sentence ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜› HONESTLY, make these and get your non-vegan friends to try them. They will be surprised that this has no dairy at all. You can hardly taste the banana. Maybe zero.

All you need: 1/2 cup of frozen, diced up banana, 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries, ย 1-2 Tablespoon of water(can substitute for fruit juice, if you want).

Put all the ingredients in a hand-mixer or a blender. Blend like crazy until smooth. That’s all! ย So simple right! ๐Ÿ˜€

For Jaffa (orange-chocolate) vegan ice-cream, just add: 1ย whole orange(skin peeled)+1/2 cup of frozen, diced up banana+1/2cup of frozen strawberries+1 Tablespoon of cocoa powder+1~2 table spoon of water. Whizz.
